This new 20,000 SF facility features an on-site medical clinic, separate receiving for public surrender, an adoption area for viewing of cats and dogs available for adoption, “get acquainted” rooms, exercise yards, staff offices and work area, community room and drive-through sally port. The facility includes 131 dog kennels and 128 cat cages. Green building features include energy efficient heating and cooling units, thicker insulation and natural light from skylights. The new location, adjacent to the Public Library, is more visible as well as accessible to the community and help boost the City’s adoption rate for homeless animals.
